Chastas new signature Kite-Snowboard
Posted on Feb 16, 2005 by Brian

Chasta is psyched with his new Pro model board designed in conjunction with Apo snowboards. Apos legendary creator Regis Roland has worked with Chasta to design a 160 all round Twin tip that is the perfect combination for use on snow with or without a kite. Apos superior construction and Chastas Tahitian graphics make this a board to drool over The Apo team released the model at the Ispo Winter Sports trade show, and it will be hitting the shops next season.

The wind was up (and down) from Thursday thru Sunday, giving everyone a chance to ride and fly Snowkites. Thanks to everyone who made this event such a success; especially James Brown and the Kitesnowboard.com crew who put together this stellar weekend. Colorado Kite Force sponsored intro clinics and shared the snowkite experience with many newcomers, and hosted a keg party at the new Frisco shop, one of the first dedicated Snowkite schools. Thanks to John with Larsons Ski who served up hot Brats and drinks, and also brought the tunes that kept us rocking during the lulls. Swaney brought out a sweet homemade rail that gave us all a place to practice our skillz, hopefully he brings it to Skyline next month, hint hint. The Colorado crew is a great group to kite and hang with, anyone heading out that way should look them up at www.kitesnowboard.com

Kites On Ice
Posted on Feb 08, 2005 by Brian

This past weekend was the 7th annual Kites on Ice and the first year of the Snowkiting Freestyle competition. An estimated 45,000 people attended on Saturday, which was the best weather day of the weekend. Friday started with snow on the lake and an awesome terrain park put together by Bob Cook and the local Madison crew. Thanks guys!

Conditions turned to a slushy water fest by mid-Saturday, but the athletes out snowkiting all enjoyed themselves and put on a great show for the crowd.

Congratulations to Ken Lucas who took first place in the Kiteski division on his K2 teles. Ken assaulted the melting jumps, rails and gaps putting on a great show for the crowd. News cameras caught some of the action, which was aired on local stations and the weather chanel.

With a good vibe from all the snowkiters, huge public attendance and an awesome venue for snowkiting and apre-ski of partying, Kites on Ice is set to be a major stop on the US winter snowkite scene.
